How long does it take to remove a cataract and replace the clouded lens with an artificial lens?

Lens replacement surgery is also known as cataract phacoemulsification with IOL implantation. This procedure lasts about 20 minutes. Stitches are not needed.

Is cataract surgery painful?

No, the surgery is painless. Before the operation, the anesthetist applies numbing eye drops to the surface of the eye or injects an anesthetic into the lower eyelid. The patient is conscious, but does not feel pain.

How much time does it take to diagnose vision problems?

A comprehensive eye examination takes on average 1,5 - 2 hours. It is carried out on modern equipment and assesses the health and functional status of the whole visual system. Based on the data obtained, an eye doctor selects an individual program for treatment or prevention of eye disorders.

Is it possible to get a comprehensive eye exam without an appointment in your clinic?

It is possible if an eye doctor is available. But it`s always better to make an appointment. It`s easy - just call the phone numbers listed on the website.

Does your clinic provide a place where out-of-towners can spend the night?

We are an outpatient clinic. But if needed, out-of-towners can stay in a ward. The cost of living is 110 UAH per day (bed linen will be provided).
